NAMI DuPage Individual
Services & Support Groups
NAMI DuPage is proud to offer a wide variety of services and support groups for individuals living with, or who know of a loved one struggling with mental illness. Our groups follow a structured model, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and to receive the support that they need. Our mission with these groups and services is to educate people on mental health, fight stigmas, and provide healthy outlets to grow, learn, and advocate for our DuPage County community.
For more information about our individual services and support groups, please contact Shuchi Srivastava, Manager of Peer Support Services, at s.srivastava@namidupage.org, or by phone at (630) 752-0066.

NAMI DuPage Living Room Program
The Living Room is a peer-led non-clinical alternative to the traditional emergency room for those who are experiencing a mental health crisis. A visit to the Living Room provides the guest a safe and calm atmosphere where he or she can talk through and de-escalate the crisis, develop a plan to manage symptoms and receive resource information. Our Living Room is located at NAMI DuPage, located inside the Linda A Kurzawa Community Center, and is open Monday – Friday from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, for adults 18 and older only.
For more information about the Living Room, visit our Living Room page.

Growing Hope Series
Sharing Hope Group
The NAMI DuPage Sharing Hope support group fosters meaningful conversations about mental wellness in Black communities through dialogue, storytelling, and guided discussion. Limited access to information about mental health can create barriers to seeking help and support. Sharing Hope Community Conversations aim to bridge this gap by exploring key topics such as the mental well-being of Black families, community leaders, and youth, recognizing the signs and symptoms of mental illness, reducing stigma through open conversations, understanding the recovery process, and discovering available mental health resources, including NAMI’s education and support programs.
Chai & Chat
NAMI Chai & Chat is a three-part community conversation series created to empower South Asian communities to openly discuss the challenges of acculturation, family and societal expectations, generational trauma, racism, and barriers to accessing care. This program welcomes individuals from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, fostering a safe and supportive space for shared experiences and healing.
Compartiendo Esperanza
Changing la cultura starts with us: no more machismo and marianismo, no more shame around reaching out for help, no more silence around our mental health.
NAMI Compartiendo Esperanza helps introduce discussions on mental health and wellness through a three-part community conversation series grounded in sacred storytelling and guided dialogue on mental wellness and support.
