Recreation & Social Programs
Our Programs
Our clients and their family members consistently report that the feelings of loneliness and isolation experienced by those individuals and families struggling with mental illness can be crippling and can derail the recovery process. To remedy this situation, NAMI DuPage offers a variety of in-person and virtual recreation and social programs!
These programs will:
- Introduce people to new recreation activities and opportunities
- Encourage socialization and meeting new people outside of a support group setting
- Increase self-esteem through involvement of activities offered
- Increase a sense of belonging in the community
- Increase feelings of satisfaction and decrease feelings of isolation, depression and stress
- Help people maintain good physical and mental health
- Reduce the possibility of rehospitalizations
